Solar hot water heating workshop
Our solar hot water heating workshop is another very popular class, probably because the system is expensive and easy to build!
The class learns about one of the simplest hot water systems available today;The Thermo-siphon solar hot water heating system.
One of the simplest hot water systems available today is the Thermo-siphon solar hot water heating system. Students are taught the basic principles of how the system works; through natural heat convection, and are taught about the various parts required and how to put them together.
Next participants get some practice of soldering copper pipes and fittings together, and spend the rest of the day building a small home system, making use of various recylcled parts, such as a car fuel tank for the water storage tank, and egg boxes for insulation.
By the end of the day, hopefully, the class will have built a complete and functioning solar hot ewater heatring sytstem!
